Windows Live Mail (formerly named Windows Live Mail Desktop) is an e-mail client from Microsoft's Windows Live set of products. It is intended to be a successor for Outlook Express on Windows XP and Windows Mail on Windows Vista. It contains a superset of Windows Mail's features, and provides integration with Windows Live Hotmail.

Windows Live Mail is the new substitution of the famous email client Microsoft Outlook that also integrates the design and versatility of Windows Mail, the email native client in Windows Vista.

With Windows Live Mail we may have access to our accounts in Google, Yahoo! and MSN, it also incorporates an agenda importer, RSS reader, the possibility of publishing our own photo blog “Live Space” and more.

As regards security, Microsoft integrated an effective protection against undesired email messages and the fraudulent Phishing attacks. In conclusion, an excellent tool to handle our email messages.

Windows Live Mail would contain all the new features in Windows Mail, and add to that the following:

    * Similar visual style to the Windows Live theme

    * Support for RSS feeds, which requires and uses Internet Explorer 7's RSS capabilities, including the ability to reply directly via email to the author of an item that appears in an RSS feed, as well as multiple feed aggregation into a single folder
    * Multi-line message lists, as in Outlook
    * The usage of Emoticons in e-mails and other functions
    * In-line spell checking
    * Separate inbox folders for different POP accounts
    * Better picture/photo messaging (PhotoMail)
